Obituary

Mrs. Athena Elise Semidei-Pruitt , age 33 passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019 in St. Marys, Georgia.

Mrs. Semidei- Pruitt was born on February 13th, 1986 in New London, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Carlos John Semidei & Providencia Rodriguez Semidei.

Athena’s life began as a New England baby. Her parents along with their son Adam, had recently settled in the Navy town of New London, Connecticut.  There as they reported for dad’s duty on the Alexander Hamilton, Athena Elise was reporting for duty to this family from New York City.

But it wasn’t long afterwards that her parents instilled in her a fondness for travel and a spirit of adventure. The family would soon relocate out west to live in California and Washington. They visited every town out west along with Mexico and Canada.  Athena traveled across the US and Puerto Rico.

Everywhere she visited, making people smile became a wonderful trait for Athena. Making people fit became her vocation as an adult. She trained her body for running marathons. And as a fitness instructor, she trained and certified the sailors of the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.

With her husband Michael Pruitt, she began her own family. And with daughter Mila Elise, the new family continued to travel and make memories in Illinois, South Carolina and Georgia.

Today Athena travels again, making new friends in Heaven.

Along with her beloved parents, she is survived by her daughter, Mila Elise Pruitt of St. Marys, Ga., her brother, Adam Julian Semidei of St. Marys, Ga.; her uncles and aunts, Heriberto & Lesbia Rodriguez of South Carolina and Ivan & Maritza Rodriguez of New York.  John & Christine Semidei, Dora & Roland Garcia, Julio & Rosa Semidei, Cynthia & Ismael Cosme, Jr. and Jane Semidei all of New York.  She is survived by nieces, Gabriella Elisia Semidei and Gianna Valentina Semidei.  She is also survived by many loving cousins.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 pm on Saturday, July 6 th , 2019 in the Woods-Wainwright Chapel in Coastal Camden Funeral Home. A celebration of Mrs. Semidei-Pruitt’s life will follow at 3 pm.

?The family requests any donations be made to GoFundMe.com, search-term Athena Semidei to aid with funeral expenses.
